The VCFA is pleased to confirm the Senior Men & Women division structure for the 2024 season. The number of Senior Men's teams has increased to 80 across eight divisions and the Senior Women's teams have increased to 21 across 3 divisions.
A 10-team Men’s Premier League will again highlight the VCFA Men’s competition in 2024, while the Men's Premier League 2 division returns to 10 teams with a single bye in the MPL2 Reserves league. This is because no clubs with an appropriate standard senior and reserve team were available to fill the 10th spot, but a new club with a single competitive senior side was available to fill the division. The remaining 41 Senior teams are spread across Divisions 1-4 with Division 4 being a 11 team division.
In the Senior Women competition a 7-team Women’s Premier League will again highlight the VCFA Women’s competition in 2024, the remaining 14 teams are spread across Divisions 1-2.
The focus in Women’s football within the VCFA is to offer both competitive and social products. We have determined that having a 3 division structure best achieves that goal and will help us grow the league in future by offering a good fit for teams at all levels. In order to keep the standard of football consistent only seven teams were able to be placed in WPL this year, with a strong expectation that the division will grow in 2025.
The VCFA have allocated teams to each division in line with the VCFA Promotion/Relegation Policy (See Attached). In the rare instances that clubs have had to be placed outside of this policy they have been contacted individually and explanation given.
The VCFA also welcome to the league Nuba FC, Melbourne Deaf FC, Victoria Harbour FC, South East FC as well as Rowville Eagles and Croydon Rangers who have entered new teams in the Senior Women's and Senior Mens' competitions respectively.
Senior Men's and Women’s fixtures will be finalised in the coming weeks and released on the VCFA website.
The VCFA wishes all of our members a successful and enjoyable 2024 season.
