Good evening Junior Clubs,
We are currently finalising junior fixtures and aim to have these released on DRIBL by Tuesday evening.
We understand that clubs are awaiting this information to pass on to their teams and plan their season, so we appreciate your patience and understanding as we finalise these fixtures.
Based on club feedback we have made some changes to how the junior competition will be structured in 2024 and this was mentioned at the junior team briefing. The factors considered by the Junior Board for this years junior competition structure were:-
The Junior Board will hold a town hall meeting with clubs in the second half of the season to discuss the junior competition structure and share feedback and ideas for implementation in season 2025 and beyond.

SSG (U8 mixed, U9 mixed, U10 mixed, U11 mixed)
As all of these competitions are non competitive, we have created two or three groups (green, blue and gold) based on the following:-
- clubs who entered more than one team have been split across the groups so there are less club v club matches
- exposing clubs to as many other VCFA clubs as possible, whilst considering geographical locations
Teams will be randomly fixtured for 18 rounds
* Reminder, U11 SSG introduces the offside rule this season so clubs will need to provide linespersons for these matches
All SSG mixed age groups are NON competitive with no Premiers or Best and Fairest awarded.
SSG (U10 Girls and U13 Girls)
The U10 Girls competition has 6 teams nominated and the U13 Girls competition has 7 teams nominated and both will be fixtured randomly for 18 rounds
The U10 girls competition is NON competitive with no Premiers or Best and Fairest awarded
The U13 girls competition is the only SSG competitive league with Premiers and Best and Fairest awarded
The U13 Girls Premiers will be decided on average points (due to a bye in the division, no points will be awarded for a bye)
* Reminder, U13 Girls introduces the offside rule this season so clubs will need to provide linespersons for these matches
U12 Mixed
The U12 mixed competition has 16 teams nominated this season
We have decided to keep these teams in one group so they will be fixtured for 18 rounds (play each other once plus 3 rounds repeated)
As this is their first year of competitive football on the full pitch we have determined that it was best to ensure all teams played each other once and this would give us data to determine division placements for U13 in season 2025
The U12 Mixed Premiers will be decided on ladder points
Best and Fairest will be awarded for the age group
Division determination for 2025 will be based on ladder placement in season 2024
U13 Mixed
The U13 Mixed competition has been split into two divisions (A & B) for season 2024
Teams have been placed into divisions based on their U12 split ladder position at season end 2023 (new teams have been nominated to B division)
Both divisions will be fixtured for 18 rounds
The U13A Mixed Premiers will be decided on average points (due to a bye in the division, no points will be awarded for a bye)
The U13B Mixed Premiers will be decided on ladder points
Best and Fairest will be awarded for each division
Division determination for 2025 will be based on ladder placement in season 2024
U14 Mixed
The U14 mixed competition has 11 teams nominated this season
Teams will be fixtured for 18 rounds
The U14 Premiers will be decided on average points (due to a bye in the division, no points will be awarded for a bye)

U15 Mixed

U18 Mixed
The U18 mixed competition has 5 teams nominated this season
Teams will be fixtured for 20 rounds (2 mid week rounds)
Premiers will be determined on ladder points
Best and Fairest will be awarded for the age group
